The Treehouse Villas and Paradise Koh Yao share the same beach on the thai island of Koh Yao Noi (located of Phuket). The Treehouse Villas were advertised as a new hotel providing a private treehouse experience like no other. It was a luxury experience we were willing to take part in because it looked out of this world. We thought how epic if we could be the first few people to experience the treehouses and share our experience! When we arrived, we were shocked to find out the villas were not actually completed and still under construction.

Of course we were disappointed because we were so hyped about it from the start! It also was shocking because we read reviews from people and even saw videos of people experiencing the villas (which must’ve just been for advertisement). No one reached out to us prior of our arrival to inform us about the ongoing construction.

Accommodations

Despite the disappointment, the Treehouse Villas partnered with Paradise Koh Yao to accomodate us properly. We were placed in a villa with a private pool overlooking the ocean. It was unlike anywhere we have ever stayed, we even sent a video to our parents like we were on MTV cribs! The villa had a walk in closet with a vanity, a bathroom area with two sinks, an outdoor shower, and a huge bedroom.

Thomas, the manager at the Treehouse Villas, provided us with free drinks, a five-course dinner meal at the Treehouse Villas restaurant (which was done!), sunrise yoga, complimentary massages, and a three hour kayak rental. Our experience was phenomenal and we were actually happy how everything played out!

First Fancy Five Course Meal Ever!

The five course meal we experienced at the Treehouse Villas was one of the tastiest meals we have ever had. Each drink was specially chosen to compliment each dish. Before each meals and drink was delivered the server explained how and why each was chosen.

The restaurant itself was beautiful because it was open and overlooking the gorgeous pool, and beach. We ate our meals watching the sunset colors of pink, orange, and purple over the beautiful crystal clear ocean. The whole atmosphere was magically lit!

Time to Relax

The main reason we ended our trip with Koh Yao Noi was to relax after a month long of eventful adventures! We received the most relaxing one hour complimentary massages at the spa.

First we had the opportunity to go in the cave sauna and dip into waterfall plunge pool. We then headed back along a path into the hidden oasis. We got to experience a couples massage in a private cabana area. It was lovely to hear the birds chirping as we got to relax for the hour.

We chose to relax another day by doing the sunrise yoga, which I loved. I’ve never done yoga looking out onto a beach before. Beautiful scenery brings you to a whole other place when you’re doing yoga!

Overall the atmosphere was very peaceful and laid back which was a nice change from the noise of Bangkok, and other cities we had visited during our trip.

Now Some Adventure!

The Kayak rental was extremely enjoyable! We got to kayak to the surrounding beaches around the island. Sam did most of the rowing when I got tired, and even she needed her rest. It was nice to explore in the kayak and get a little more active. We were out on the water for awhile, but got so tired (kayaking is a workout let me tell you) that we didn’t use the full three hours. We were thankful we had the opportunity to kayak because relaxing is nice, but sometimes you just want to do something new and adventurous!

Overall

The Treehouse Villas seems like an amazing luxury experience although initially we were made to believe it had a little more privacy. In reality the villas are pretty close together and there isn’t much space between them all.

The accommodation is pretty pricey, with yoga, kayaking, and massages costing about the same as they would in the states, but we thought the splurge was worth it (and got comped for the time we were suppose to stay in the treehouse villas for the inconvenience, and late notice), since we budget traveled the rest of our trip.

The villas have since been completed and we’d love to go back and check them out!
